Miriam, 38
VITAL STATISTICS
Áª¤Ó½Ð¤¹¡¿ÆÈ¿È for nine months, never married and no children.
CURRENT ROLE
PhD student in Åŵ¤¤Î ¹©³Ø.
WOULD LIKE TO MEET
Someone Æù¿Æ¡¤¿ÆÎàd and supportive, family-orientated, who is open to trying new things. A big no to smokers.
PHD student Miriam, 38, felt Chris was 'ÅÚÂæ¤òÊø¤¹ing my Ãμ±¿Í ¶ÈÀÓ¡¿À®½¢s'
Dating Past
My most ºÇ¶á¤Î ´Ø·¸s were both long-¾Î¤¹¤ë¡¤¸Æ¤Ö¡¿´ü´Ö¡¿ÍÑ¸ì ¡½ one for over six years and another for five. I took on a lot of the ·ã¤·¤¤ ²ò½ü¤¹¤ëing with my last partner. Men now seem to look for ºÎÂò rather than a partner.
Pre-Date ¿À·Ðs?
Yes, I¡Çm a bit shy and was ²ñ¹ç someone who sounded way cooler than me on his profile. He¡Çs in a ¶Ø»ß¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ëd. Mum was keen to go through her dresses. She¡Çs 74, but looks young for her age and buys beautiful Ã夻¤ë¡¿ÉêÍ¿¤¹¤ës, È¿¤·¤Æ I tend to go for charity shops. For once, I wore one of my own dresses.
First Impressions?
Chris had a red shirt on, and it struck me he¡Çd made an À®²Ì¡¿ÅØÎÏ. I didn¡Çt find him attractive ¤¹¤°¤Ë. We did that ¤®¤³¤Á¤Ê¤¤ British thing of not knowing whether to ÊúÍʤ¹¤ë or shake ¼êÅϤ¹s so bumped into one another. Chris said he¡Çd Ä´°õ¤¹¤ëd up for a blind date ¡Æbecause why not¡Ç, which didn¡Çt make me feel very special.
Ê¿°×¤Ê To Talk To?
I told Chris my PHD was on AI and he replied, ¡ÆOh that¡Çs topical, isn¡Çt it?¡Ç Er ? yes. I had already told him I was ½Ï¹Í¤¹¤ë¡¿¹Íθ¤¹¤ëing for a PHD, but he ¡Æforgot¡Ç and referred to it as a Masters. He also made a ¸ÀµÚ¡¿´ØÏ¢ to me ¡Ælearning¡Ç Welsh rather than ¡Æspeakin g¡Ç it. I felt that he was ÅÚÂæ¤òÊø¤¹ing my Ãμ±¿Í ¶ÈÀÓ¡¿À®½¢s, which I didn¡Çt like. I was amazed he had also started a Masters in Psychotherapy, because he isn¡Çt very self-aware. It made sense when he ǧ¤á¤ë he didn¡Çt finish the course.
Embarrassing Moments?
I don¡Çt think so, which is good because I¡Çm ÉáÄÌ¤Ï clumsy.
Did Ͷȯ¤¹¤ës Èô¹Ôµ¡¤Ç¹Ô¤¯?
No, if I like someone I get nervous and giggly, and there was no chance of that with Chris. There was no flirting on either Ì£Êý¤¹¤ë.
'There was no flirting on either Ì£Êý¤¹¤ë,' said Miriam
See him again?
No, we were together for two hours and we left when I said I had to catch my train »Ù±ç¤¹¤ë to ¤à¤Á¤ÎÀ×s. We didn¡Çt ¸ò´¹¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë numbers.
What do you think he thought of you?
Chris didn¡Çt engage with me at all, so I didn¡Çt leave the date feeling good about myself.
NO I don¡Çt think so. My parents want to see me with someone supportive of my goals.
MIRIAM¡ÇS VERDICT: 3/10
LIKED? We ³ôd food.
REGRETS? No, it¡Çs good to go outside my °Ö°Â zone.
COFFEE OR CAB? Cab.

CURRENT ROLE?
NHS ¹ÔÀ¯´±¡¿´ÉÍý¼Ô.
WOULD LIKE TO MEET
Someone curious about the world, ¹ÎÄêŪ¤Ê, µî¤Ã¤Æ¤¤¤¯¡¿¼Ò¸òŪ¤Ê, quick to laugh. I can¡Çt do those materialistic types.
Chris says of his date: 'While it felt like we were on the same wavelength, there was no physical attraction'
Dating Past
I ʬÎö¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë from my wife of four years just over ten years ago. Since then, I¡Çve been ȼ¤¦¡¿´Ø¤ï¤ëd in a couple of shorter ´Ø·¸s but nothing recently. I¡Çm the youngest of three boys and it¡Çs just me who is Áª¤Ó½Ð¤¹¡¿ÆÈ¿È now. I am keen to settle É餫¤¹¡¿·âÄƤ¹¤ë.
Pre-Date ¿À·Ðs?
A little bit but nothing to worry about. I know I have good people µ»½Ñs.
First Impressions?
¹ÎÄêŪ¤Ê - I got a good friendly vibe from Miriam. She¡Çs got dark hair and is ¸øÀµ¤Ë¡¿¤«¤Ê¤ê ¤ï¤º¤«¤Ê¡¿¤Û¤Ã¤½¤ê¤·¤¿. I ÀßΩ¤¹¤ë her attractive, although there wasn¡Çt any ¨ºÂ¤Î ¡Æelectricity¡Ç. I gave her a ÊúÍʤ¹¤ë and pulled her µÄĹ¡¤»Ê²ñ¤ò̳¤á¤ë out for her to sit É餫¤¹¡¿·âÄƤ¹¤ë. She struck me as a very engaging woman.
Ê¿°×¤Ê To Talk To?
'I¡Çm the youngest of three boys and it¡ Çs just me who is Áª¤Ó½Ð¤¹¡¿ÆÈ¿È now,' says Chris. 'I am keen to settle É餫¤¹¡¿·âÄƤ¹¤ë'
The small talk was unusual. We covered Miriam learning the Welsh language, which I ÀßΩ¤¹¤ë fascinating. I was impressed with her ½Ï¹Í¤¹¤ë¡¿¹Íθ¤¹¤ës, too. I think it¡Çs something to do with AI? It¡Çs beyond my level of understanding. She did live in Mexico in between all those years ½Ï¹Í¤¹¤ë¡¿¹Íθ¤¹¤ëing with her nose in a Ä´½ñ¤ò¤È¤ë¡¿Í½Ì󤹤ë.?Miriam asked me about my ¶Ø»ß¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ëd, and I explained that I play keyboard and sing »Ù±ç À¼¤Îs.
Embarrassing Moments?
No. Miriam did ¸º¾¯¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë her cutlery at one point, but that wasn¡Çt embarrassing.
Did Ͷȯ¤¹¤ës Èô¹Ôµ¡¤Ç¹Ô¤¯?
I would say no, not in the sense of romance. While it felt like we were on the same wavelength, there was no physical attraction. Afterwards I realised I should have complimented her on her looks. But I didn¡Çt, and I put that É餫¤¹¡¿·âÄƤ¹¤ë to Miriam ¸ºß so talkative.
See her again?
No, you need a Ͷȯ¤¹¤ë. If there had been obvious Ä´°õ¤¹¤ës she liked me, then perhaps I would have Äɵ᤹¤ëd things, but they weren¡Çt there. We didn¡Çt ¸ò´¹¡Ê¤¹¤ë¡Ë numbers and just had a friendly ÊúÍʤ¹¤ë.
What do you think she thought of you?
I¡Çd guess she would say that I was Ê¿°×¤Ê to talk to because we spent two hours together and the conversation didn¡Çt stop.
Would your friends like her?
Yes, Miriam is very grounded with her Ĺ¡¤Î¨¤¤¤ë screwed on. She¡Çs got good values, too.
CHRIS¡ÇS VERDICT: 8/10
LIKED? Miriam is talkative.
REGRETS? Not really, no.
COFFEE OR CAB? Coffee.
