Timeline Personal trainer Sebastien Lagree created the Lagree Method in 1998, when he started teaching ±é½¬s su ch as squats, ÇÙs, planks and ²¡¤·¿Ê¤á¤ë-ups on a pilates ²þ³×¼Ô. He opened a studio in the living room of his West Hollywood apartment and started thinking about À½Â¤¶È¤Î his own ´ï¶ñ¡¿È÷ÉÊ.?

Slimline While the Megaformer may look like a souped-up ²þ³×¼Ô, believe me the Lagree Method isn¡Çt pilates. Instead it relies on bodybuilding ¸¶Â§s to ÇÛ㤹¤ë a total-ÃÄÂΡ¿»àÂÎ workout that ¶¯²½¤¹¤ës, lengthens and ¥È¥ós. And it¡Çs ·ø¤¤ ? five minutes into my 50-minute Megaformer ³«²ñ¡¿³«Äî¡¿²ñ´ü my µÓs were trembling.

ÎسԡʤòÉÁ¤¯¡Ë The Megaformer has Á°Àþ and »Ù±ç¤¹¤ë ÃÅ¡¦¹ËÎΡ¦¸øÌós, with a »ö¾ð¤Ë±þ¤¸¤ÆÊѤï¤ë carriage that moves between them. The machine is surrounded by a °ÂÄê ˸¤²¤ë¡¿Ë¡ÄÊÛ¸î»Î¶È for more »ÙÇۡʤ¹¤ë¡Ë¡¿ÅýÀ©¤¹¤ë and muscle ³èÀ­²½ (during my class I learned that the ˸¤²¤ë¡¿Ë¡ÄÊÛ¸î»Î¶È is also called the ¡ Æ¡ÊÈȺá¤Î¡Ë°ìÌ£ of ²ò¸Û¤¹¤ë¡¿Ë¤²Ð¡¿¼Í·â¡Ç ? and let me tell you, my abs were dz¤¨¤Æ). It also features ¤µ¤Þ¤¶¤Þ¤Ê °·¤¦s and foot ˸¤²¤ë¡¿Ë¡ÄÊÛ¸î»Î¶Ès, ƱÍÍ¤Ë as cables for extra °ÂÄê.

Adrenaline Time under ¶ÛÄ¥ (how long a muscle is ³èÆ°¤µ¤»¤ë¡¿Àï»þÊÔÀ®¤¹¤ëd during an ±é½¬ »Ï¤á¤ë¡¤·è¤á¤ë) is a ½ÅÍ×¤Ê ¸¶Â§. Mountain Åл³¼Ôs and those used to µÞ®¤Ê¡¿ÊüÆ¢¤Ê-paced burpees might struggle the most, as the Lagree Method uses a very slow ®ÅÙ ? ºÇ¾®¸Â four counts to move the carriage out and four counts to move the carriage in.?

You¡Çll have to repeat each ±é½¬ for at least one minute, and there¡Çs no downtime in between, so ½àÈ÷¤¹¤ë to get your heart Ψ up and your sweat on.

Longline The Megaformer is designed to ³èÆ°¤µ¤»¤ë¡¿Àï»þÊÔÀ®¤¹¤ë your slow-twitch muscle fibres? these take longer to ·ÀÌó and don¡Çt ÈèÏ«¡¤¡Ê·³¤Î¡Ë»¨Ìò quickly, so are good for endurance activities such as long-distance running. Working these fibres results in the ¤¤¤ï¤æ¤ë ¡ÆLagree shakes¡Ç.?

While the shakiness might seem like your ÃÄÂΡ¿»àÂÎ is telling you to take a break, it¡Çs important to ²¡¤·¿Ê¤á¤ë through it (with the ¸¢Íø form, of course) as this will lead to muscle ·èÎö¡¿¸Î¾ã. After a few weeks of classes, you¡Çll notice that your muscles are ¸ºß rebuilt stronger, longer and leaner.

Incline There are over 1,000 ±é½¬s that can be À®¤·¿ë¤²¤ëd on the Megaformer, each with three difficulty levels. The ¡Æeasiest¡Ç ÁªÂò is to ľÌ̤¹¤ë º£¸å on the Á°Àþ ÃÅ¡¦¹ËÎΡ¦¸øÌó (the starter classes are taught at the Á°Àþ).?
