'University is my biggest 悔いる': I earn £70,000 and it's STILL not enough to 支払う/賃金 負かす/撃墜する my student 貸付金

The 財政上の 重荷(を負わせる) of a student 貸付金 has 増加するd 劇的な for today's 世代 of young people.?

In 2012, 最大限 年次の 料金s rose from £3,000 to £9,250. More recently, インフレーション-linked 利益/興味 has meant 卒業生(する)s are 支払う/賃金ing an 注目する,もくろむ-watering 7.9%.

人物/姿/数字s 解放(する)d recently by the Student 貸付金s Company show nearly 2million people now 借りがある between £50,000 and £100,000 in student 貸付金 負債, with one person 借りがあるing a 抱擁する £252,000.?

Anna*, 31, 卒業生(する)d from university almost 10 years ago and says that even though she earns £70,000, she is still only 支払う/賃金ing off the 利益/興味 on her 計画(する) 2 貸付金. Here she 株 her experience of feeling '罠にかける' by the student 貸付金 system.?

Rising debt: High interest rates mean that many people's loan repayments are too little to pay down their student debt

Rising 負債: 高金利s mean that many people's 貸付金 返済s are too little to 支払う/賃金 負かす/撃墜する their student 負債

Until 2022, I was never bothered too much about my student 貸付金.?

I hadn't thought too much into it because, like everyone says, it's the 量 you 支払う/賃金 not the balance.

However, when I landed my dream 職業 working for a large company in London, my salary went up 意味ありげに.

I had to move to the South East so my cost of living went up, 同様に as my 税金 支払い(額)s. Of course, my student 貸付金 支払い(額)s and 利益/興味 also went up 意味ありげに.

Now I 支払う/賃金 £4,000 per year に向かって my student 貸付金. That just covers the 利益/興味, so my 貸付金 現在/一般に stands at £46,000.

I borrowed £37,000 初めは, and I've already paid off £12,000, so it has accrued almost £20,000 in 10 years.

I'm 31 now, so my 貸付金 won't be written off until I am 57, if my salary stays 概略で the same. That also doesn't account for taking time out of work to have children, if I do.?

I will 支払う/賃金 around £100,000 for my 商売/仕事 degree, which I just don't think it is 価値(がある).

Even if I get a 支払う/賃金 rise to £100,000, then I'll be 支払う/賃金ing £6,500 per year and it still won't 支払う/賃金 負かす/撃墜する my 貸付金 because the 利益/興味 is now 7.9 per cent.

If you're living 近づく London, it's not 異常な to be on £70,000, and then you've got your rent to 支払う/賃金.

What 利益/興味 do I 支払う/賃金 on my student 貸付金??

利益/興味 率s have typically been based on the 小売 Price 索引 率 of インフレーション (RPI). This was 議論の的になる in itself, because the 消費者 Price 索引 (消費者物価指数) is a much more ありふれた 手段.?

However, when RPI 急に上がるd to 13.5 per cent in March last year, the 政府 introduced an 利益/興味 率 cap of 7.6 per cent for all student 貸付金s.

The cu rrent level of 利益/興味 on each 計画(する) is as follows:

  • 6.25 per cent on 計画(する) 1 (started university before 2012)
  • 7.9 per cent on 計画(する) 2 (started university after 2012 but before 2023)
  • 6.25 per cent on 計画(する) 4 (students from Scotland)
  • 7.9 per cent on 計画(する) 5 (students starting in 2023 and after)
  • 7.9 per cent on the postgraduate 貸付金 計画(する)

Those 収入 under £27,295 just 支払う/賃金 the RPI 率 in 利益/興味, while those 収入 between £27,296 to £49,130 支払う/賃金 RPI 加える up to 3 per cent, as the 率 増加するs the more you earn.

Those 収入 over £49,130 are 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金d RPI 加える 3 per cent.

I don't 推定する/予想する anyone to feel sorry for me, or for anyone on a higher salary. But I can't believe that even if you are 収入 more than £70,000, its still not enough to 支払う/賃金 負かす/撃墜する your 負債 and you are only (疑いを)晴らすing the 利益/興味.?

You want to go for your dreams, your aspirations, and feel like you're getting somewhere, but now I 支払う/賃金 £2,000 in rent with my partner, and I have 税金 to 支払う/賃金 and then my student 貸付金 is paid 地位,任命する-税金.

I thought by taking this 職業 that I would really feel the 利益 of it, but I'm not that much better off than I was.

My take-home salary is only a few hundred 続けざまに猛撃するs higher each month than when I was 収入 around £40,000.

?I truly do not know what to do. I feel 罠にかける, it is the biggest 悔いる of my life and I feel as though every success I have is punished.

I am tempted to start 支払う/賃金ing 負かす/撃墜する the 貸付金 with some of my 貯金?and extra 支払い(額)s.?

I 現実に made a £19,000 支払い(額), but then changed my mind and miraculously managed to get it 支援する before it was fully 過程d.

I can't 予報する the 未来, and the 政府 could change the 支配するs on student 貸付金s at any point. What if the 支配する on when the 貸付金s are wiped was changed 支援する to 30 years, and I wished I hadn't made that 支払い(額)??

It is a lot to 賭事 when you are 31. I've never spent that much money on anything.

The 改革(する) Party said in the 選挙運動 that it would 除去する all 利益/興味 from the 貸付金, so that every 支払い(額) would 現実に 支払う/賃金 off the 貸付金.?

When you hear parties talking about 政策s like that, you think: 'I can't 危険 支払う/賃金ing it in one go'.

I truly do not know what to do. I feel 罠にかける, it is the biggest 悔いる of my life and I feel as though every success I have is punished.

I was around 18 when I took out the 貸付金, I didn't understand 利益/興味 率s and how 構内/化合物 利益/興味 作品. I feel like people are only just feeling the 影響s of this now, because I was the first year to go to university with these £9,250 料金s.

I work in sales, and I think I could have got in to a 類似の 職業 without needing to go to university. I would rather have done an 見習いの身分制度 or 設立する a different 大勝する in that w ouldn't leave me with such a large 貸付金 to 支払う/賃金.

Either I let go of £50,000 of 貯金 when I'm 31 or I 結局最後にはーなる 支払う/賃金ing 潜在的に over £100,000 for my degree. In the worst 事例/患者 it could even cost £200,000 if I was very successful.

It's made me feel like all my dreams have been 鎮圧するd. A large part of my 職業 is stressful, but I took it for the salary which I'm now not 利益ing from 予定 to the 増加するd living costs and student 貸付金s.

I just can't understand why they've 始める,決める it up like this. The policymakers don't have this - most of them got their degrees for 解放する/自由な.
